Workflows

A workbook is a canvas of nodes: triggers, model steps, app tools, loops, and checkpoints. Run it by hand, on a schedule, from an app event, or from your own HTTP call.

Manual run

  1. Create a workbook (or start from a template).
  2. Wire a Start node to the steps you want.
  3. Click Run on the tab. Watch events live; cancel if you need to.

Free includes manual runs. Schedules start on Growth.

Schedule

Two places, same idea — fire without anyone opening chat:

Use this for Monday briefs, inbox sweeps, and anything that should already be done when the team arrives.

Triggers

Put a trigger on the canvas and connect the matching app. When the event happens, the workbook starts.

TriggerWhen it fires
ManualYou click Run
ScheduleCron / timezone you set
WebhookHTTP POST to the tab’s webhook URL
APIHTTP call with your Task AI API key
GmailNew mail matching the filters you set
Slack / Slack reactionMessage or reaction in a channel
Microsoft TeamsMessage in a channel
GitHubPush, pull request, and other repo events you select

Notion / AirtablePage or record change

Webhook

Copy the URL and token from the trigger inspector. Send JSON; input maps to Start inputs.

curl -sS https://tasks.phthos.ai/api/webhooks/workflows/WORKBOOK_ID/TAB_ID \
  -H "X-Workflow-Webhook-Token: YOUR_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"input": "summarize yesterday"}'

The response includes a run id and status. Optional Idempotency-Key avoids starting the same job twice.

Run from the API

Create a personal API key in Task AI Settings (tai_…). Then start the task’s workflow:

curl -sS https://tasks.phthos.ai/api/v1/tasks/TASK_ID/run_workflow \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer tai_…" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"inputs": {"input": "summarize yesterday"}}'

List workbooks with GET /api/v1/workflows using the same key. To chat with the agent over HTTP instead, see Share & host.

GitHub, Gmail, Slack

Add the matching trigger, connect the app, and choose the repo, inbox, or channel. Task AI shows the URL to paste into GitHub (or the other product) when a webhook is required. Pings and filtered events (wrong branch, wrong label) are skipped so the source does not retry forever.
